The students chosen to be a part of this go through an initial training where they learn how to handle the equipment properly. Then on a daily basis, they start work at about 7:30 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon. They mow and weed eat, and when done start over and do it again. The best part is that they are earning money doing it.Like all student job opportunities, money is used to pay any outstanding restitution due to offenses committed. After that, it is saved for when they leave Woodward Academy. The summer mowing crew will work until this fall and other job and vocational opportunities will be available this summer. Those include Knights on the Move, and a variety of agricultural experience working for GARST.
